# Understanding the Folio Reader

## 📖 What Is Folio Reader? [#-what-is-folio-reader]
Folio Reader is the core feature of Folio which allows you to manage and organize your saves. You can customize your content by marking saves as favorites, adding highlights, categorizing them as short or long reads, and moving items to archive.
## 🎲 Overview of Reader Tabs [#-overview-of-reader-tabs]
Folio Reader covers seven main tabs (**All**, **Favorites**, **Tagged**, **Highlights**, **Short Reads**, **Long Reads**, and **Archive**). Each tab is designed to help you organize and manage your saves effectively.
### ✨ All Tab [#all-tab]
In Folio Reader, the **`All`** tab is the default view when opening the Reader. It displays all your saves except those that have been archived. You can sort items in this tab by either "Newest First" or "Oldest First".
### ⭐ Favorites Tab [#favorites-tab]
Your Favorites tab contains all your favorite items, even those you've archived.
This tab displays all your saves marked as favorites, allowing quick access to them in one place. After reading, you can unfavorite saves or move them to the archive.
To add an article to your favorites tab, click the "⭐" icon at the bottom right of your selected item.
### 🏷️ Tagged Tab [#️tagged-tab]
You can customize your saves with the powerful tagging feature, which allows you to add custom tags to your content. When you create a new tag for your saves, they will be automatically added to the "Tagged" tab.
To create a new tag(s) for your selected save:
- Select your item → Click `...` (3 dots icon) → Click "**Edit Tags**" → Add “🏷️ **Enter a Tag Name**” → Click "Save".
### ⚡ Highlights Tab [#highlights-tab]
This tab displays your highlighted saves, allowing you to access your highlights quickly. After reading, you can remove your highlights or move them to the archive.
To highlight an article for the Highlights tab:
- Simply **select content** from an article → Click the "**Highlight**" button that automatically appears → Your highlighted article will be added automatically to the "**Highlights**" tab.
### 🕑 Short Reads Tab [#short-reads-tab]
The Short Reads tab automatically displays all short saves (less than 10 minutes to read) except those in the Archive tab.
The Short Reads tab automatically displays articles that take **less than 10 minutes to read**, allowing you to quickly find content when you have limited time.
### 🕙 Long Reads Tab [#long-reads-tab]

The Long Reads tab automatically displays all long saves (more than 10 minutes to read) except those in the Archive tab.
The Long Reads tab automatically displays articles that take **more than 10 minutes to read**, allowing you to save longer content for when you have more time available.
### 🗑️ Archived Tab [#️archived-tab]
In Folio Reader, we provide the Archive tab to help you store all your read content and keep the Reader more organized and clean. This allows you to enjoy reading and easily archive items when you're done 😃!
To archive your read saves:
- Select your item → Click `...` (3-dot icon) → Click "🗑️ **Archive**".
## 🔡 Sort By (Available in All Tabs) [#sort-by-available-in-all-tabs]
Folio Reader offers a **Sort By** feature in all Reader tabs, enabling you to organize your content by:
- **Newest First:** Displays your saves with the most recently added items at the top.
- **Oldest First:** Displays your saves with the earliest added items at the top.

To delete your item(s): Select your item → Click `...` (3-dot icon) → Click "`🗑️ Delete`".
Yes, you can unarchive items from the Archived tab:
- Select your item → Click `...` (3-dot icon) → Click "**Unarchive**".
